BEIJING, October 13 (ChinaMil) -- Xu Qiliang, vice chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC), met with Oleg Belokonev, First Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, who came to China to participate in the 7th Xiangshan Forum, in Beijing on the morning of October 12, 2016.
Xu Qiliang said that China and Belarus are good friends and sincere partners sharing mutual support.
In September of this year, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko jointly decided to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership with mutual trust and win-win cooperation, pushing forward the China-Belarus relations to a new stage and pointing out the direction for carrying out the all-weather pragmatic cooperation in all areas between two countries, Xu stated.
China and Belarus have been maintaining a good momentum of exchanges and achieved pragmatic cooperation in various fields. Friendly cooperation between the two militaries has rich connotation and sees a promising future, Xu noted
He stressed that the two sides should resolutely implement the consensuses reached by the heads of the two countries and constantly raise the level of military cooperation, so as to make contributions to safeguarding the national sovereignty, security and development interests as well as to maintaining the world peace and stability.
Belokonev said that he was very pleased to come to China to attend the 7th Xiangshan Forum. China and Belarus sees the constant consolidation and development of their relationship under the promotion of the two heads, and such friendship is built on the basis of mutual trust, cooperation and win-win outcomes.
The Belarusian side is willing to work with China to deepen the pragmatic cooperation in various fields, so as to bring the relationship between the two countries and mil-to-mil relations to a high level, and serve the people of the two countries, he added.
Sun Jianguo, deputy chief of the Joint Staff Department of China's Central Military Commission, and Belarusian Ambassador to China Kiryl Rudy, were also present at the meeting.
