(Source: PLA Daily)   2009-10-21

Xu Caihou, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), stressed when holding a discussion with students of the training class of the minority nationality officers of the National Defense University (NDU) on October 20 that organizations at all levels should further strengthen the building of minority nationality officer ranks and the minority nationality officers in the military should endeavor to make greater contributions to national defense and army building.

Li Jinai, member of the CMC and director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the PLA, presided over the discussion.

Xu Caihou emphasized that for a long time the minority nationality officers, as an important part of the military officers, had made important contributions to national defense and army building and they are an important force to push forward army building and effectively fulfill mission. Party committees at all levels should work out special measures for cultivation and selection, further expand channels for enrolling minority nationality officers, constantly raise the quality of cultivating minority nationality officers and give special care and concerns to minority national officers in work and life. In a word, concerted efforts should be made by Party committees at all levels to enable minority nationality officers to steel themselves and grow up.
