During the period around noon on May 27, 2010, several combat units under the Tibet Military Command (MC) including a mechanized infantry brigade and an electronic confrontation regiment staged a fierce joint confrontation drill in a valley in central Tibet at 4,500 meters above sea level.
Since the beginning of 2010, the Tibet MC has launched a number of joint exercises in the plateau environment, in which the combat units of different arms improved their fighting capabilities together in real confrontations.
In a joint defense and counterattack exercise in frigid high-altitude mountain areas in complex electromagnetic environment, a mountain infantry brigade and a mechanized infantry brigade found out a lot of shortcomings in their maneuver patterns and firepower deployment during the exercise and developed the solutions together.
In a confrontation exercise jointly staged by an artillery regiment and an engineer regiment aimed to achieve successful camouflage, reconnaissance and anti-reconnaissance, some fighting and training methods including the tactics against precision strike got tested.
The online battles have also been encouraged among combat units of different arms and mobile defensive troops under the Tibet MC.
“The joint training and joint exercise make the training more close to real battles”, said Zhang Bing, chief of staff of the Tibet MC.
