GSH plans PLA’s military training in 2013

  The General Staff Headquarters (GSH) of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) issued a document entitled the Instructions on the PLA’s Military Training in 2013 (hereinafter referred to as “the Instructions”) at the beginning of 2013, making a general plan for this year’s military training of the PLA.

  The Instructions points out that in 2013, the PLA and the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force (APF) should focus closely on the objective of being able to fight and winning battle, vigorously strengthen real-combat-like military training, practise and innovate the training mode under information-based conditions and intensify efforts to cultivate new-type and high-caliber military personnel.

  The Instructions requires: A. highlighting training to fulfill missions and basic training; B. greatly enhancing tactical innovation under information-based conditions; C. carrying out in-depth integrated training based on the information system; D. systematically promoting military training reform; E. and striving for improving the quality of personnel cultivation of military academies.

  The Instructions stresses that organs at all levels should take strengthening real-combat-like military training, raising troop units’ real-combat level and improving academies’ real-combat training mechanism as their important responsibilities and make overall planning of all the work focusing on military training.
