BEIJING, May 29 (ChinaMil) -- The Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Geng Yansheng said on Thursday that Lt.Gen. Wang Guanzhong, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), will lead a delegation to attend the Shangri-la Dialogue to be held in Singapore from May 30 to June 2, 2014.
Geng said that Wang Guanzhong will deliver a speech at the meeting to expound the Asian security view advocated by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), introduce the PLA's practice in implementing the Asian security view and conducting international security cooperation, and put forth the proposal to strengthen regional security cooperation.
During the meeting, Wang Guanzhong will also meet with leaders of the defense departments and the militaries of the countries concerned to exchange views on regional security situation and the relations between the militaries.
