BEIJING, September 12 (ChinaMil) -- Chang Wanquan, state councilor and minister of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) of the People's Republic of China (PRC), met with Suwin, the visiting chief of general staff of the Lao People's Army (LPA), in Beijing on September 11, 2014.
Chang Wanquan said that China and Laos always go through thick and thin together and move forward hand-in-hand.
The two sides have established high mutual trust in politics, mutual-benefit cooperation in economy and mutual support in international affairs, having broad perspectives of cooperation in various fields.
In recent years, the two militaries of China and Laos have been maintaining frequent high-level contacts and carrying out fruitful and effective cooperation in fields including military college/academy education, personnel training, logistics and medical treatment.
Chang Wanquan expressed that the Chinese side is willing to work together with the Lao side to strive to establish the military relations conforming to the overall strategic and cooperative partnership between the two countries, so as to provide firm support for the security and development of the two countries and make positive contributions to the in-depth development of the bilateral relations.
Suwin said that Laos regards China as its true friend that can go through thick and thin together, and firmly adhere to the friendly policy towards China. The Lao military is committed to further enhancing exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries, so as to push forward the constant development of the relations between the two militaries.
