MONROVIA, March 6 (ChinaMil) -- Good news came from the China-founded Ebola treatment center in Liberia on March 3, 2015, local time, again that two successive Ebola virus tests for a 58-year-old female Ebola patient showed the negative results, marking that she has completely recovered from the illness.
The woman is the third Ebola patient with serious conditions the second Chinese military medical team to Liberia has cured since the team arrived in the Ebola treatment center in mid January.
She was sent to the Ebola treatment center on February 18, and her son died of Ebola hemorrhagic fever four days before, according to sources.
The woman was diagnosed with the Ebola infection on February 19. Medical experts in the team immediately held a consultation and carried out effective treatment for her.
The negative results of two blood tests on February 28 and March 3 respectively proved that the patient had already recovered from the illness.
"According to the local health department, there will be no confirmed Ebola patient in Liberia after the patient is discharged from hospital, that’s to say, the Ebola epidemic has basically disappeared in the country," said Yang Haiwei, leader of the second Chinese PLA medical team to Liberia.
By 18:00 on March 3, the second PLA medical team to Liberia has given treatment to 34 suspected Ebola patients, and three of the five patients whose conditions had been diagnosed as the Ebola disease have successfully cured.
