BEIJING, Dec. 22 (ChinaMil) -- Gen. Wang Jianping, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), met with a delegation of Nepalese military officials led by Nepalese Chief of Army Staff Gen. Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana in Beijing on the afternoon of Dec. 21, 2015.
China and Nepal are friendly neighbors, and under the care and promotion by the leaders of the two countries, the Sino-Nepalese relations have been always maintaining the healthy and stable development trend, Gen. Wang said.
The Chinese PLA is willing to work with the Nepalese Army to maintain the high-level contacts and strategic communication between the two militaries, deepen the pragmatic cooperation in the fields of the Tibet-related issues, disaster relief and rescue, and international peacekeeping, so as to make positive contributions to pushing forward development of relations between the two countries and safeguarding regional stability, Gen. Wang noted.
Gen. Rana said that Nepal always adheres to the one China policy and doesn’t allow any force to engage in activities posing challenges to China’s core interests within the Nepalese territory. The Nepalese Army is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese PLA in such fields as military education and training, border management and control as well as regional security, Gen. Rana added.
