Chinese defense minister holds talks with Macedonian counterpart

BEIJING, Dec. 23 (ChinaMil) -- Gen. Chang Wanquan, China's state councilor and minister of national defense, met with Macedonian Defense Minister Zoran Jolevski in Beijing on Tuesday.

Gen. Chang said that traditional friendship between both countries has been strengthened with successful cooperation in various fields in recent years. The relations between militaries of the two countries have always maintained a healthy development momentum and new progress has been made in professional exchange and cooperation, he added.

The Chinese PLA is willing to explore cooperative potential with the Macedonian Armed Forces to promote continuous development of pragmatic cooperation between the two militaries in personnel training, international peacekeeping and other areas, the Chinese defense chief told his Macedonian counterpart.

Jolevski said Macedonia values its relations with China and is willing to expand the areas of communication and cooperation between the two militaries.
