BEIJING, June 3 (ChinaMil) -- According to the Peacekeeping Affairs Office of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the camp of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) in the city of Gao was hit by car-bomb attacks at 10:50 on May 31 (4: 50, June 1, Beijing time), causing heavy casualties. One Chinese peacekeeper was killed and five were wounded among the 4th Chinese peacekeeping force to Mali.
Sergeant First Class Shen Liangliang from the engineering detachment of the 4th Chinese peacekeeping force to Mali, aged 29, born on August 4, 1987, was killed in the attack.
Another three soldiers from the same detachment were injured, including Sergeant First Class Si Chongchang, born on June 3, 1987; Sergeant Liu Yindi, born on August 17, 1993; Sergeant First Class Yang Zhancheng, born on December 23, 1985.
Two Chinese peacekeepers from the security detachment were injured, including Corporal Li Tao, born on February 5, 1992 and 1st Lieutenant Liu Liang, born on June 17, 1987.
They were all from the 16th Group Army of the Chinese PLA Army.
