PLA Navy holds military rank promotion ceremony

BEIJING, Aug 2 (ChinaMil) -- The Chinese PLA Navy held a military rank promotion ceremony in Beijing on July 29, 2016. Admiral Wu Shengli, member of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) and commander of the PLA Navy, read the order of promotion signed by CMC Chairman Xi Jinping at the ceremony.

The military rank promotion ceremony was presided over by Admiral Miao Hua, Political Commissar of the PLA Navy.

Approved by the CMC, five officers have been promoted to the rank of vice admiral from rear admiral, who are Wang Hai, deputy commander of the PLA Navy, Yang Shiguang, director of the Political Work Department under the PLA Navy, Kang Fei, political commissar of the North China Sea Fleet, as well as Shen Jinlong and Liu Mingli, commander and political commissar of the South China Sea Fleet respectively.

Eleven officers including two technical officers were promoted to the rank of rear admiral from senior captain.
