Chinese navy starts open sea drill

The photo features a scene of the amphibious dock landing ship “Changbaishan” (Hull number 989). A taskforce under the South China Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLAN) set sail from a military port in south China's Hainan province for an open-sea training in the South China Sea on January 20, 2014. The taskforce consists of the amphibious dock landing ship “Changbaishan”, the guided missile destroyers “Haikou” and “Wuhan”, 3 ship-borne helicopters, an air cushion craft, a marine company and so forth.
