22nd Chinese naval escort taskforce conducts firing training in Indian Ocean

A seaman fires a light machine gun at a simulated sea target during the firing training. The 22nd Chinese naval escort taskforce, which is composed of the guided missile destroyer Qingdao, guided missile frigate Daqing and supply ship Taihu, conducted firing training in an unnamed sea area of the Indian Ocean on the afternoon of December 23, 2015. The taskforce is en route to the Gulf of Aden and waters off the Somali coast where it will replace the 21st Chinese naval escort taskforce to provide escort for the merchant ships and fight against pirate activities.
