Hong Kong communities visit PLA Garrison before Mid-Autumn Day

HONG KONG, September 12 (ChinaMil) -- A mid-autumn visitation group from all walks of life of Hong Kong visited the PLA Hong Kong Garrison to deliver their festival greetings and blessings on Sept. 10.

The delegation, led by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong S.A.R. Leung Chun-ying and his wife, Mrs. Regina Tong Ching-yi, as well as Dai Defeng, chairman of Concerted Efforts Resource Center, brought holiday greetings to officers and soldiers of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison in Stonecutters Island Barracks.

Major General Tan Benhong, Commander of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, deputy commissioner Tong Xiaoling of the Commissioner's Office of China's Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong, and Du Jiaju, chairman of the Preparatory Committee of Military-Civilian Activities, attended these activities along with other guests.

Mrs. Regina Tong Ching-yi, wife of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong S.A.R. Leung Chun-ying, said in her address that after the return of Hong Kong to China 19 years ago, the PLA Hong Kong Garrison has been protecting the security of Hong Kong all along.

Mrs. Regina Tong Ching-yi praised that the PLA Hong Kong Garrison has made a significant contribution to prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and the PLA Hong Kong Garrison is indeed a mighty and civilized force.

At the end of her address, Mrs. Regina Tong Ching-yi expressed thanks and wished everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
