BEIJING, MAR.9 (ChinaMil) -- The second China-UK Joint Noncombatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) Tabletop Exercise kicked off in London on March 8, according to a news report on the official website of China's Ministry of National Defense.

During the two-day exercise, China and UK will hold discussions and exchanges on such topics as information collection, early warning, establishing communication channels and transporting personnel to a third country, against the background of jointly carrying out nationals evacuation operations during a conflict or major natural disaster in the third country.

The exercise is aimed to strengthen the two sides' practical cooperation in non-traditional security fields. The first exercise of this kind was held in China in March 2016.
