TAMATAVE, Madagascar, May 12 (Xinhua) -- The 25th Chinese escort naval fleet, which has just finished its four-month mission in the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters, arrived in Madagascar for a 5-day visit Friday.

The fleet, comprised of two frigates and a supply ship, began to arrive at the port of Tamatave at around 10 a.m. local time (GMT+3).

The Chinese community led by Chinese Ambassador to Madagascar Yang Xiaorong welcomed the fleet at the port of Tamatave, 360 km north of Madagascar's capital, Antananarivo.

Since December 2008, authorized by the United Nations, the Chinese navy has been sending taskforces to the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters for escort missions.
