PLA Navy delegation participates in IMDEX 2017 in Singapore

SINGAPORE, May 19 (ChinaMil) -- Rear Admiral Zhou Ximing, deputy commander of the South China Sea Fleet under the Chinese PLA Navy, attended the opening ceremony of the International Maritime Defense Exhibition & Conference (IMDEX) 2017 at the Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore on May 16, 2017, local time.

Officials including Singapore Defense Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen, and naval delegations from China, the US, Russia and other countries attended the opening ceremony.

After the ceremony, the Chinese naval delegation visited a number of globally-renowned ship and equipment manufacturers.

The Chinese Navy delegation also participated in the 5th International Safety at Sea Conference held on the afternoon of the same day.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Singapore Navy. A total of 89 military products manufacturers of the world attended the exhibition. 46 warships from 21 countries including China, the US, Pakistan and Singapore participated in the warship open-day activities during the exhibition.

On behalf of the Chinese PLA Navy, the guided-missile frigate Huangshan (Hull 570) participated in the warship open-day activities, conducted military and cultural exchanges actively with other navies.
