BEIJING, Aug 10 (ChinaMil ) -- Tens of foreign ambassadors and military attachés to China as well as foreign experts from more than 100 international organizations in China visited a theme exhibition to celebrate the 90th anniversary of founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army(PLA) at the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution on Thursday morning.
The exhibition pools more than 1,000 photos and 1,300 exhibits.
In the exhibition hall showcasing China's participation in foreign Military Operations Other Than War(MOOTW), the military attaché of Sierra Leone to China S. M. Daramy looked at the medical service equipment with great interests.
The people of Sierra Leone always view Chinese soldiers as their best friends, Daramy told the reporter. "I've met many members of Chinese military medical teams in Sierra Leone. They are friendly and dedicated. After the Ebola virus epidemic broke out in West Africa in 2014, the Chinese military medical team members in Sierra Leone devoted themselves to the rescue and treatment of Ebola victims, they were very helpful to us," he said.
Its 90 years' development history proves that the Chinese PLA is a force dedicated to bringing peace to the world, he added.
In front of a photo wall displaying the images of Chinese peacekeepers, the South African ambassador to China Michael Milli Hussein told the reporter that after having an overall knowledge of the development history of the Chinese PLA, he was more confident that it is a peace-loving force.
"In Africa, the fine equipment and rigorous discipline of Chinese peacekeepers are very impressive. The Chinese peacekeepers have made great sacrifice for maintaining peace in Africa. As far as I know, two Chinese peacekeepers laid down their lives in Mali last year. They are great soldiers," said the ambassador.
In the exhibition hall themed with the Long March, German’s military attaché to China Stefan Gunhach was taking photos with his cellphone. He said that he was learning the Chinese language in order to understand the PLA better, and the exhibition just gave him an opportunity in time to know more about the PLA's development history.
"After knowing the hardships and difficulties the PLA troops experienced during the Long March, suddenly it dawned on me why they have such a strong sense of pride today," he said. "The success of the Long March is awe-inspiring, and the Long March spirit will always stay in the soul of Chinese soldiers," he added
When asked about his impression of Chinese soldiers, Stefan Gunhach said, "The Chinese and German militaries held a joint medical service exercise in Chongqing last year, which was a good beginning of the military cooperation between the two countries, and the two militaries will have cooperation in multiple areas in the future. "
"What impressed me most in the exhibition is the achievements China has made in its aerospace industry, it only took China 90 years to build itself into a power of aerospace technology from scratch," said Daniel Tomozei, a foreign reporter working with the CRI.
From a reporter's point of view, the Chinese people are very united under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and the Chinese Armed Forces are fully able to protect their national interests, he said.
The theme exhibition is designed to display the PLA's major battles, influential historical events, important decision-making processes and great development achievements in the past 90 years.
