2nd QCCM High-level Military Leaders' Meeting kicks off

DUSHANBE, Aug. 28 (ChinaMil) -- The 2nd High-level Military Leaders' Meeting on Quadrilateral Cooperation and Coordination Mechanism (QCCM) in Counter Terrorism by Afghanistan-China-Pakistan-Tajikistan Armed Forces/ Militaries was held in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, on August 27, 2017.

Mohammad Sharif Yaftali, Chief of General Staff of the Afghan National Army, Li Zuocheng, Chief of the Joint Staff Department under China's Central Military Commission (CMC), Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, and E. A. Cobidrzoda, Tajikistan's First Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of General Staff of Tajikstan Armed Forces, attended the meeting.

The parties had in-depth exchange of views on the current international and regional security situation.

They stressed the necessity and importance of strengthening the anti-terrorism pragmatic cooperation among the four armed forces, and agreed to further enhance mutual understanding and trust, and continuously promote all levels of military exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

They also agreed to enhance the regional joint anti-terrorism capability, and jointly safeguard the security interests of the four countries and make positive contributions to the peace and stability of region and the world as a whole.

The four parties signed Agreement on the Coordination Mechanism in Counter Terrorism by Afghanistan-China-Pakistan-Tajikistan Armed Forces and Protocol on Counter-Terrorism Information Coordination Center by Afghanistan-China-Pakistan-Tajikistan Armed Forces.

Previously, a Joint Statement of the Inaugural High-level Military Leaders' Meeting on Quadrilateral Cooperation and Coordination Mechanism in Counter Terrorism by Afghanistan-China-Pakistan-Tajikistan Armed Forces was issued in Urumqi, capital of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on August 3, 2016.

The Second Joint Working Group Meeting for the Quadrilateral Cooperation and Coordination Mechanism (QCCM) in Counter Terrorism by Afghanistan-China-Pakistan-Tajikistan Armed Forces/Militaries was held in Beijing from 8th to 10th of November, 2016.
