Laotian President Bounnhang Vorachit meets with PLA Admiral Miao Hua

Laotian President Bounnhang Vorachit (R) met with visiting Admiral Miao Hua, member of China's Central Military Commission in Vientiane in the afternoon of January 19th.

VIENTIANE, LAOS, Jan. 21 (ChinaMil) -- Laotian President Bounnhang Vorachit, who is also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, met with visiting Admiral Miao Hua, member of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) and director of the CMC Political Work Department in Vientiane in the afternoon of January 19th.

President Bounnhang Vorachit welcomed Admiral Miao Hua and his delegation and asked Admiral Miao to convey his best regards to President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders. President Bounnhang Vorachit said that Laos is grateful to China’s long-term support and assistance. He hopes that the two sides will continue to consolidate their traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation in a wide range of fields, and push bilateral relations between the two parties, countries and militaries to a new level in accordance with the principles of "good comrades, good partners, good neighbors, and good friends ".

Admiral Miao conveyed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s sincere regards and wishes to President Bounnhang Vorachit and extended his warm congratulations to the 70th anniversary of Lao People’s Armed Forces. Admiral Miao said the Chinese military is willing to work with the Lao People’s Armed Forces to fully implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, cement the foundation for friendship, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and make greater contribution to the development of China-Laos comprehensive strategic partnership.

On the same day, Admiral Miao also met and held talks with Lao defense minister and the director of the General Political Bureau of the Lao People’s Armed Forces.
