SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's top nuclear envoy held phone talks with a U.S. diplomat over the Korean Peninsula issue, Seoul's foreign ministry said Wednesday.

Noh Kyu-duk, special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, talked over the phone with Sung Kim, acting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific affairs.

During the phone dialogue, they traded opinions concerning the denuclearization of and the peace settlement in the peninsula.

Denuclearization talks between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States have been stalled since the second DPRK-U.S. summit ended without agreement at the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi in February 2019.
