August 2007, the PLAAF went abroad in complete units and on a large scale for the first time to participate in the “Peace Mission 2007” joint drill sponsored by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. It was the first time the PLAAF’s new China-made equipment JH-7A fighter-bomber participating in an actual-troop exercise outside the country.
