Tu Boyi, 89 years old, is a veteran of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) fighting the 1950-53 Korean War. In 1951, 20-year-old Tu was badly burned by a napalm bomb on battlefield. He suffered from extensive burns all over his body, and his face was severely disfigured. Back to China, he was sent to a nursing home for disabled veterans in Sichuan Province, southwest China. Today, a volunteer at the memorial hall, Tu lives a happy and rewarding life.
