BEIJING, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Procurement in the Chinese military has been digitalized starting Nov. 1, according to Monday's People's Liberation Army Daily.

The move is a key measure for deepening reform of procurement in the military and is significant for better supervision and raising efficiency in the process of procurement, according to the paper.

The digital platforms have functions including procurement assessment, contract signing, import management, product catalogue management, and online shopping.

The platforms were developed by the Procurement Management Bureau of the Logistic Support Department of the Central Military Commission.
