JUBA, Oct. 23 -- 700 peacekeepers of the 11th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to UNMISS were recently awarded the UN Peace Medal of Honor in recognition of their outstanding contributions to South Sudan's peace and stability.

朱巴10月23日电  近日，中国第十一批赴南苏丹（朱巴）维和步兵营在联合国驻南苏丹特派团中国营区内隆重举行授勋仪式，700名维和官兵全部被授予联合国“和平荣誉勋章”，以表彰他们为维护南苏丹和平稳定做出的突出贡献。

At the awarding ceremony, representatives of senior UNMISS officials and the Chinese Ambassador and Military Attaché to South Sudan presented the UN Peace Medal of Honor to the representatives of the Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion, and declared and granted the certificate of merit.

授勋仪式上，联南苏团高层代表，中国驻南苏丹大使、武官为中国维和步兵营官兵代表佩戴“和平荣誉勋章”，并为中国维和步兵营宣读并颁发嘉奖。

UNMISS SJUBA Commander Brig. Gen. Muhammad Iqbal Hossain said: "To talk about Chinbatt, so far (what) I have seen is a very professional, well-trained and well-organized contingent, and their contribution to the peace and stability in South Sudan is remarkable. I can tell this much, out of three contingents in the sector, one of the best contingents to my assessment. They are creating a platform in South Sudan. I'm sure his successor will just replace them; they will also continue like that. I'm really happy and fully contented to get such a professional contingent in UNMISS, and really proud of them."

 “关于中国营，我认为非常专业，他们训练有素、凝聚力强，而且他们为南苏丹的和平与稳定作出了十分卓越的贡献，从我的个人评价而言，在战区的三个出兵国分队中他们也是最杰出的，他们在南苏丹树立了一个很好的标杆，同时，我也相信下一批的中国营维和分队，也一定会保持和发扬这种精神。能够在联南苏团拥有如此专业的维和力量，我深感荣幸，并为此感到骄傲和自豪”。朱巴战区司令伊克巴尔•侯赛因这样讲。

Since its deployment to the mission area in December last year, the 11th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion, within the command framework of the UNMISS, has completed 308 days of guard duties and 586 authorized tasks including armed escorts, city patrols, and long and short-distance patrols. In addition, the Chinese peacekeepers actively conducted free clinics, donations, water supply, planting techniques instruction and other humanitarian assistance activities.

中国第十一批维和步兵营自去年12月部署至任务区以来，在联南苏团指挥框架内，高标准完成了警戒执勤308天、武装护卫、城市巡逻、长短途巡逻等授权任务586次，积极开展义诊、捐赠、供水、教授种植技术等人道主义援助活动。
