As an intelligent precision-strike weapon for individual soldiers, the HJ-12 is capable of fire-and-forget operation.

To be specific, the missile locks onto the target before launch, and then autonomously tracks it until impact.

After launch, the shooter remaining concealed can quickly reload, or reposition, which significantly enhances battlefield survivability.

红箭-12堪称单兵作战的“智能尖兵”，（能够实现“发射后不管”），导弹发射前锁定目标，发射后自主追踪直到命中，并且导弹在射手安全距离外点火升空，有助于射手隐蔽位置，射手还能迅速装填新弹或转移阵地，极大提升了作战效率与灵活性。
