WAU, South Sudan, Mar. 19 -- The 16th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) participated in a UN fuel emergency takeover drill in mid-March.

Currently, persistent security risks exist around the camp. As a core logistical resource for peacekeeping operations, any disruption to fuel supplies caused by sudden security incidents would directly constrain the execution of various missions. To effectively respond to extreme situations such as armed conflict spillover and facility damage, the relevant fuel management departments of UNMISS organized a joint drill involving the Chinese peacekeeping engineering contingent, the Indian fuel platoon, the Bangladeshi infantry battalion, and civilian personnel.

The drill effectively tested the Chinese peacekeeping contingent's rapid response capabilities in handling sudden security incidents. Moving forward, the Chinese peacekeeping contingent will continue to closely monitor the security situation in the mission area, refine its emergency response plans, and conduct regular emergency drills.
