WAU, South Sudan, April 29 -- The 16th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) recently completed infrastructure construction tasks at the Kuajok detachment point, including the reinforcement and renovation of watchtowers, leveling of camp roads, and construction of generator room roofs.
瓦乌4月29日电 中国第16批赴南苏丹（瓦乌）维和工兵分队近日完成科瓦乔克分遣点岗楼加固改造、营区道路平整、发电机房顶棚建设等基础设施建设任务。
The Kuajok detachment point serves as a vital logistics node during the construction of the main supply route (MSR) connecting Kuajok, Turalei, and Abiemnhom. Due to long-term erosion from intense sun, sandstorms and rain, the infrastructure such as watchtowers and generator rooms had become dilapidated, unable to meet the daily living and security duty requirements of the peacekeepers.
科瓦乔克分遣点是“科瓦乔克-图拉雷-阿比恩洪”主补给线施工时重要的物资保障节点。受烈阳、风沙和雨水长期侵蚀，营区岗楼、发电机房等基础设施陈旧受损，无法满足官兵正常生活和安防执勤需求。
At the construction site, the Chinese peacekeepers overcame challenges such as scorching heat and material shortages, ensuring high-standard and efficient operations through precise measurement. The mission involved lifting 16 containers, filling over 500 cubic meters of sand and soil, and dispatching over 100 sorties of various machinery and vehicles.
施工现场，分队官兵克服高温酷暑、物资匮乏等困难，精准测量高效施工，以高标准完成作业。施工累计吊运集装箱16个，填装沙土500余立方，动用各型机械车辆100余台次。
The successful completion of the task resolved issues regarding security, transportation, and power supply at the Kuajok detachment point. It has greatly improved the working and living conditions in the camp, laying a solid foundation for future peacekeeping missions and demonstrating the professionalism of Chinese peacekeeping engineers.
此次任务的圆满完成，解决了科瓦乔克分遣点安保、通行、供电等方面的问题，全面优化了营区工作生活环境，为后续更好执行维和任务奠定坚实基础，彰显了中国工兵的专业素养。
