BEIJING, May 8 -- The opening ceremony of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum Navigator Meeting 2026 was held at the Huabei Hotel in Beijing, China, on the morning of May 8, 2026. Under the theme of "Global Security Governance: Challenges and Approaches", the meeting focuses on international and regional hotspot issues and making intellectual contribution to the building of a more just and equitable global governance system.
北京5月8日电 -- 2026年北京香山论坛先导会8日上午在北京华北宾馆开幕。本次先导会以“全球安全治理：挑战与出路”为主题，旨在聚焦国际和地区热点话题，为构建更加公正合理的全球治理体系贡献智慧。
Co-hosted by the China Association for Military Science (CAMS) and the China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS), the meeting brought together over 120 guests, including representatives from more than 40 countries and international organizations as well as experts and scholars from home and abroad. As the second edition following its successful launch last year, the Navigator Meeting once again plays a forward-looking and preparatory role, laying the foundation for the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum scheduled to be held this autumn.
本次会议由中国军事科学学会和中国国际战略学会共同主办。来自40余个国家和国际组织的代表和国内外专家学者等120余名嘉宾与会。本次先导会作为论坛品牌的重要组成部分，是继去年首次成功举办后，再次发挥其前瞻与预热功能，为计划于今秋举办的第十三届北京香山论坛奠定基础。

During the meeting, participants will hold roundtable discussions on four key topics: "International Order and International Rule of Law", "New Security Challenges in the Asia-Pacific", "Responsibility for Safeguarding International Common Security" and "Risk Control in the Military Application of Emerging Technologies". Speakers include defense officials from Brazil, Germany, France, Russia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, South Africa, Serbia, Singapore and other countries, along with renowned scholars from Peking University, Tsinghua University, the Chinese PLA Academy of Military Sciences, the Stimson Center (USA), the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and other institutions.
会议期间，与会代表将围绕“国际秩序与国际法治”、“亚太安全新挑战”、“维护国际共同安全的责任”及“新兴技术军事应用的风险管控”四个重要议题展开圆桌研讨。来自巴西、德国、法国、俄罗斯、柬埔寨、马来西亚、缅甸、南非、塞尔维亚、新加坡等多国防务官员及北京大学、清华大学、军事科学院、美国史汀生中心、斯德哥尔摩国际和平研究所、红十字国际委员会等机构的知名学者担任发言嘉宾，展开深入交流。
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum. As a highlight of the Navigator Meeting, a commemorative session for the 20th Anniversary of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum titled "The Role of International Forums in Global Security Governance" will be held on the afternoon of May 8. The session will invite representatives from globally renowned defense and security think tanks to review the 20-year journey of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum and explore the unique value of international security forums in facilitating equal-footed dialogue, building consensus, and bridging differences.
今年正值北京香山论坛创立20周年。作为本次先导会的一大亮点，8日下午将举办“国际论坛在全球安全治理中的作用——北京香山论坛20周年纪念特别专题交流”活动。该活动将邀请全球知名防务与安全智库代表，共同回顾北京香山论坛二十载历程，探讨国际安全论坛在平等对话、凝聚共识、化解分歧等方面的独特价值。
In the coming two days, representatives from all parties will explore security issues, discuss approaches to peace, and seek feasible pathways for advancing international security dialogue and deepening cooperation.
各方代表将在未来两天的会议中，共话安全议题，共商和平良策，为推动国际安全对话与持续深化合作探寻可行路径。
