VALPARAISO, CHILE, Mar. 3 -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy's hospital ship Silk Road Ark arrived at the Port of Valparaíso on March 1, 2026, beginning a seven-day friendly visit along with medical exchange activities.

This is one of the stops for the hospital ship during its "Harmonious Mission 2025" mission and also the second visit by a Chinese naval hospital ship to Chile since 2018.

During the visit, the Chinese naval hospital ship will be open to the public. Representatives of troops aboard the Chinese naval hospital ship will visit the National Maritime Museum of Chile and the Chilean Navy's training ship Esmeralda, among other engagements.
