The China Coast Guard conducted routine law enforcement patrols in waters east of Taiwan Island on Saturday, led by its Hushi vessel formation, said Jiang Lue, a CCG spokesperson.
Jiang said the formation has strengthened patrol and inspection operations in relevant waters since October to ensure normal navigation and working order, as well as protect the legitimate rights and interests and the safety of life and property of Chinese people, including compatriots in Taiwan.
The CCG will continue to strengthen law enforcement patrols in waters under China's jurisdiction and resolutely safeguard national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, he said.
