Chinese peacekeepers to South Sudan (Juba) pass UN combat readiness assessment

JUBA, Sept. 16 -- The 11th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) recently passed the systematic combat readiness assessment organized by the UNMISS.

The combat readiness assessment team consisted of members from operations, personnel, training, support, civil-military coordination, and other departments. During the assessment, by means of debriefing, document reviewing, tabletop exercise, and on-site inspection, the assessment team conducted a comprehensive and objective analysis and evaluation of the command and planning capabilities, combat readiness, emergency response, weapon and equipment performance, authorized mission execution, and other capabilities of the Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion.

With every item meeting the standards, the Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion received high recognition from the UNMISS assessment team, demonstrating Chinese peacekeepers' excellent combat capabilities and good conduct.

Up to now, the 11th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the UNMISS has accomplished various authorized missions including sentry post duty, guard and patrol, and armed escort, winning wide praise from the UN and the local people.
