BEIJING, Jan. 28 -- On January 26, 2026, the 6th Chinese Peacekeeping Military Utility Helicopter Unit to the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) dispatched a Mi-171 multi-purpose helicopter, carrying 12 UNISFA military observers, to carry out their first armed air patrol task.

The armed air patrol lasted for 3 hours and surveyed 18 mission points in the Abyei region.
