BEIJING, Feb.24 -- The 24th Chinese Peacekeeping Contingent to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) held a flag-raising ceremony in its mission area on February 17, local time, to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Since its deployment, the contingent has been committed to undertaking multiple missions such as mine clearance, infrastructure construction and medical aid. The peacekeepers have made concrete contributions to safeguarding local peace and security, and won acknowledgement of the UN and local residents.
