BEIJING, Feb. 26 -- The engineering and medical units assigned to the 16th Chinese Peacekeeping Force to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) recently passed the UN first-quarter equipment inspection with high standards.
A joint inspection team, consisted of specialists from the logistics, equipment, medical, engineering and environmental departments of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), conducted comprehensive check on the Chinese peacekeeping troops’ serviceability and maintainability of vehicles, engineering equipment, weapons and ammunition, special equipment, living facilities and individual gear.
The inspection team spoke highly of the Chinese peacekeeping troops, noting that their equipment management is meticulous and their support capability reliable, with all equipment indicators meeting the UN standards.
It is learned that the UN equipment inspection is normally conducted on a quarterly basis as a comprehensive assessment of the equipment and facilities provided by troop-contributing countries.
