BEIJING, March 24 -- The China Coast Guard (CCG) received a report on March 22 that a fisherman had four fingers severed in an accident while operating in waters of the East China Sea. The CCG vessel Baita (Hull 2304) rushed to the scene for rescue after receiving the report.
During the voyage, a corpsman kept in contact with the fishing boat and provided remote guidance on preliminary medical treatment. After the injured fisherman was brought aboard, the corpsman immediately disinfected and bandaged his wound. Three hours later, a rescue helicopter carrying medical personnel rendezvoused with the vessel and transferred the injured fisherman.
At present, the injured fisherman has safely arrived at Zhoushan Hospital in east China's Zhejiang Province for further treatment.
