BEIJING, April 23 -- The Chinese PLA Support Base in Djibouti, together with the Ministry of Health of Djibouti, carried out a mosquito control and epidemic prevention campaign in We'a Town, Arta Region, Djibouti from April 16 to 17, 2026. The Chinese side also conducted full-coverage disinfection and mosquito control across the entire jurisdiction of the town jointly with the Djiboutian side.

This campaign, aiming at reducing the risk of mosquito-borne disease transmission, has been warmly welcomed by the local residents and widely covered by the local media. Mr. Hassan Dablah, governor of Arta Region, expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese base for the kind act of actively fulfilling social responsibilities.

In recent years, the Chinese PLA Support Base has actively implemented the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepened the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and continuously carried out a series of activities such as public welfare assistance, healthcare services, and cultural exchanges for local disaster-affected people, primary and secondary school students, orphans, women, and other local communities.
