CHONGQING, May 22 -- The 11th Chinese military medical expert team to Ethiopia successfully completed its medical aid mission and safely returned to China on May 20, 2026.

During its one-year mission, the team treated patients over 2,500 times, performed more than 150 surgeries, trained over 30 key medical and nursing personnel and introduced 11 new clinical technologies and practices. In addition, the team conducted training on the application of hospital information systems to boost the development of local hospitals.
