BEIJING, May 22 -- The 12th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to South Sudan (Juba) recently completed a short-range patrol mission from the capital Juba to the Tombek region, following the authorization of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and orders from Sector Juba.
Covering a round-trip distance of over 260 kilometers, the infantry battalion deployed multi-function forces and relevant equipment, including infantry, medical, and equipment maintenance teams. Working in close coordination with UN military observers throughout the operation, the Chinese battalion successfully completed the mission, earning high praise from UNMISS and Sector Juba.
During the period, the Chinese peacekeepers also carried out humanitarian assistance activities by visiting the Tombek Primary School to extend greetings and deliver donations.
