BEIRUT, Aug. 18 -- The 24th Chinese Peacekeeping Contingent to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) recently donated humanitarian supplies to the Tiro Association for Arts and the Union of Municipalities of Tyre.

The supplies, totaling over 1,600 items including staple and non-staple foods, daily necessities, and educational supplies, are aimed at helping the local residents alleviate basic living difficulties.

Since its deployment to the mission area, the 24th Chinese Peacekeeping Contingent to UNIFIL has consistently carried out peacekeeping tasks including mine clearance, explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), engineering projects, medical assistance, and patrol and guard.

In addition to fulfilling its primary mission, the contingent has also conducted humanitarian assistance and community outreach, conveying the warmth and goodwill of Chinese peacekeepers to the local people.
