An artillery detachment assigned to a brigade under the Chinese PLA 81st Group Army recently maneuvered to a training ground in northern China to conduct a full-element live-fire assessment.

During the assessment, PL-96 122mm howitzers targeted fixed fortifications such as trenches and bunkers, using precision fire and rapid fire to deliver suppressive fire on the target area. Leveraging damage data relayed from the front, PHL-11 122mm wheeled multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) quickly switched ammunition types to launch deep fire strikes and destroy the enemy fortifications. Simultaneously, HJ-8 anti-tank missiles executed precision strikes to neutralize the remaining targets.

The live-fire assessment effectively tested the troops' capabilities in intelligence reconnaissance, fire coordination, and rapidstrike operations.
