SHANGHAI, Nov. 16 -- At about 5 p.m. on Nov. 16, 2025, the Type 076 amphibious assault ship Sichuan attached to the Chinese PLA Navy completed its first three-day navigation test mission and returned to the shipyard dock. During the sea trial, a series of tests were conducted on the power, electrical and other systems and equipment of the ship, achieving the expected results. The subsequent test projects will be gradually carried out in accordance with the overall construction plan.

China's first Type 076 amphibious assault ship Sichuan, has a full-load displacement of over 40,000 tonnes and features a dual-island superstructure along with a full-length flight deck. It incorporates the innovative electromagnetic catapult and arrestor technologies, enabling it to carry fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and amphibious equipment.
