BEIJING, Sept. 6 -- The Canadian frigate HMCS Ville de Québec and the Australian destroyer HMAS Brisbane transited through the Taiwan Strait and made provocative actions on September 6, 2025. "The Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command organized its naval and air forces to track and monitor the transit of the two vessels, effectively responding and handling the situation," said Army Senior Colonel Shi Yi, spokesperson for the PLA Eastern Theater Command.

"The actions of Canada and Australia have sent out wrong signals and heightened security risks," slammed the spokesperson, adding that the troops of the Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command remain on high alert at all times and are ready to resolutely safeguard China's national sovereignty, security, and regional peace and stability.
