BEIJING Sept. 11 -- A media briefing and planning session for the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum was held in Beijing on Thursday morning. It is learnt that the Forum will take place at the Beijing International Convention Center from September 17 to 19, under the theme of "Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development". At present, the preparations for the Forum have been largely completed, with confirmed participation from more than 100 countries, regions, and international organizations. Approximately 1,800 conference delegates, observers, and journalists have registered.
According to Senior Colonel Wu Jiangang from the forum's preparatory committee, this year's forum will feature four plenary sessions focusing on the following topics: building a just and equitable global security governance system, enhancing strategic mutual trust and security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, upholding the post-war international order to promote global peace and stability, and advancing regional peace through dialogue and consultation.
Meanwhile, eight parallel group sessions will be held, covering themes such as the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the international order, the trajectory of major power relations, Asia-Pacific security cooperation, political resolutions to regional conflicts, governance of emerging technologies, the impact of evolving warfare forms on international security, the current state and future of arms control, and global security governance with a focus on Latin American regional security. The forum will also include high-end dialogues, Young Military Officers and Scholars' Seminar, dialogues between renowned Chinese and international experts, as well as several closed-door academic seminars dedicated to in-depth discussions on security-related issues.
