The Type 052D destroyer Yinchuan, the Type 071 amphibious landing ship Jinggangshan and the Type 056A corvette Jingmen participating in the "Peace and Friendship-2025" joint exercise arrived at Port Klang, Malaysia. The Malaysian side held a grand welcoming ceremony at the port, featuring a military band and personnel from the Malaysian armed forces.

Subsequently, Chinese ground and air forces traveled by motorized convoy to their respective exercise areas. With this, all Chinese participating troops have successfully arrived at their designated locations as scheduled, according to a statement from PLA Southern Theater Command.

Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, representatives of the Chinese community, Chinese enterprises, and students studying in Malaysia also attended the event to welcome the Chinese participants.

During the voyage, the Chinese naval task group made full use of the complex maritime environment to conduct joint search and rescue, joint escort, and medical support training. The teams further refined exercise procedures and details around the planned subjects and carried out a variety of educational and morale-building activities to enhance participants' tactical and technical capabilities as well as their confidence in completing the joint exercise to a high standard.

The "Peace and Friendship-2025" joint exercise will be held from October 15 to 23 in Malaysia and surrounding waters. More than 1,000 personnel from multiple services of both China and Malaysia will take part, with operations organized across land, sea, and air domains. Notably, this will be the first time that the series of joint exercises includes an air force exchange and seminar.

A Chinese military affairs expert told the Global Times in an earlier interview that the two countries share common needs in combating natural disasters and piracy, and that the joint drill contributes to maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea.
