BEIJING, Nov. 1 -- "The Philippines, in collusion with non-regional countries, conducted so-called 'joint patrol' to stir up trouble in the South China Sea from October 30 to 31, seriously undermining regional peace and stability," condemned Air Force Senior Colonel Tian Junli, spokesperson for the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command, in a written statement released on Saturday.
"Facts have proved that the Philippines is the troublemaker in the South China Sea issue and the wrecker of regional stability," Tian added, stating that the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command deployed forces to closely monitor the situation, and ensured that all moves that stir up troubles or incite tensions in South China Sea remain under control.
The spokesperson emphasized that troops of the PLA Southern Theater Command remain on high alert at all times and will resolutely defend China's sovereignty, security, and maritime rights and interests.
