JAKARTA, Dec. 11 -- The Chinese PLA Navy's 989 Task Group, which is currently on a far-sea comprehensive training mission, left the Port of Tanjung Priok in Jakarta on December 11, 2025, concluding its four-day friendly visit to Indonesia.

The Indonesian side held a grand farewell ceremony. Staff members from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, representatives of local Chinese-funded enterprises and overseas Chinese, as well as representatives of Indonesian naval sailors came to the port to see the Chinese naval task group off.

During the visit, representatives of the Chinese naval cadets paid a visit to the Indonesian Marine Corps and carried out sports exchange activities with the young sailors of the Indonesian Navy, which further enhanced the friendship and mutual trust between the two sides. Some Chinese naval cadets also visited the Confucius Institute at University of Al-Azhar Indonesia, where they interacted and communicated with the faculty and students. Meanwhile, the Chinese naval task group organized multiple open ship day activities, attracting representatives of local Chinese-funded enterprises and overseas students boarding the ships for visits.

Indonesia is the last stop of this far-sea comprehensive training mission, following the visits to Vietnam and Malaysia. The Chinese PLA Navy's 989 Task Group has set sail on its return voyage.
