BEIJING, March. 2 -- Approved by China's Central Military Commission (CMC), the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) issued and implemented the Certificate of Chinese PLA Reserve Service Personnel on March 1, 2026.

Taking the form of a booklet-style ID, the Certificate of Chinese PLA Reserve Service Personnel, featuring a high level of anti-counterfeiting and easy recognition, is used as an effective document to prove the identity of reserve service personnel. The ID number is a unique identity number generated by the system. It is issued to reserve officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers who started to serve in the reserve force of the Chinese PLA in accordance with the law after the promulgation and implementation of the Reservist Law of the People's Republic of China. The former Certificate of PLA Reserve Service Officer is abolished with immediate effect.

The issuance and implementation of the Certificate of Chinese PLA Reserve Service Personnel not only serve as the official recognition of the status of reservists by the country and the military, but also embody the personal honor and social respect that reservists are entitled to.
