BEIJING, April 24 -- Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun, who is visiting Russia upon invitation, held talks with Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov on April 24, 2026.
The two sides held in-depth exchange of views on the relations between the two countries and two militaries, the international and regional situation, as well as issues of mutual concern. They agreed that, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Putin, China-Russia relations have consistently maintained a high level of healthy development. The successful video summit between the two heads of state in February this year charted a new course for cooperation across all fields, including the military sector.
Both sides agreed that the two militaries should adhere to the consensus reached by the heads of state, continuously strengthen strategic communication, further deepen practical cooperation in all fields, jointly uphold universal justice and the international order, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of bilateral relations.
Prior to the talks, Belousov held a welcoming ceremony for Admiral Dong Jun and accompanied him to inspect the guard of honor.
