BEIJING, May 12 -- The first batch of the 3rd Chinese Peacekeeping Quick Reaction Forceto the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) departed for the mission area aboard a Y-20 transport aircraft to undertake a one-year peacekeeping mission.

Composed of personnel from infantry, reconnaissance, driving, communications, medical, and other military arms and specialties, the Chinese Peacekeeping Quick Reaction Force (QRF) will mainly perform tasks including armed patrols, security searches, and civilian protection in the mission area.

As scheduled, the second batch of peacekeeping troops will be deployed to the mission area by mid-May, 2026.
